What I Learned About Gratitude

So I recently came across a simple but thought provoking tip from a YouTuber about cultivating gratitude (yes I know they’re a dime a dozen but bear with me)

In the interest of all our shorted out attention spans, here’s the TL;DR version. At the end of your day, here are the 3 things to contemplate on :

What was something that made you smile?

What was something that you’re grateful for?

What was something that you did well?

The simplicity of it makes it straightforward to start but the actual reflection is the part that sets you on the right frame of mind. It will help calm your mind and for those who dread “meditation” I don’t think this really qualifies.

I’ve tried it and as he says, it helps you get out of your own head for a little while to start looking into the present.

To quote Joey (the YouTuber in question)…

“If you’re never happy with what you have, you will never be happy with what you get”
